MAKING MUSIC

Learn to Sing | Learn to Play

Everything you need to know about where and when groups meet & how to get involved...

MGOW is working to create opportunities for young people to learn, play and perform across a range of types of music. We achieve this through two approaches....

We work with 7,000 children and young people in their schools.  Each week, a MGOW musician visits our partner schools and guides groups and classes as they learn to sing and play all sorts of different musical instruments.

We also provide a range of out of school activities that everyone is welcome to join.   The number of instruments and groups on offer will evolve and change over time.  You can find out more about our current groups and opportunities here.

Our music groups offer young people a chance to learn, rehearse and perform with others, make new friends and improve their playing.  If your child already sings or plays to an advanced level, you can also find out about our regional ensemble opportunities through Sinfonia and Singfest Youth and Children's Choirs.

All lessons and rehearsals are delivered by professional musicians who are experienced performers and music educators.  To ensure accessibility, fees are heavily subsidised.
